2. Scope

This website (wayuuland.com) is a static landing page for the book "Rio Hacha and the Goajiro Indians". It does not use cookies, analytics, contact forms, or user accounts. No personal data is actively collected or stored by this site.

3. Hosting and Server Logs

wayuuland.com is hosted as static HTML. The hosting provider automatically records standard access log data for each request, which may include:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of the request
  • URL requested
  • HTTP status code
  • Referring URL and browser user agent

This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website). Log data is retained by the hosting provider for a maximum of 7 days for security and diagnostic purposes and is not used for profiling or marketing.

4. External Links and Third Parties

This site links to Amazon for book purchases. When you follow that link, Amazon may set cookies and collect data in accordance with its own privacy policy. We have no control over and no responsibility for Amazon's data practices. We encourage you to review Amazon's Privacy Notice before making a purchase.

Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers to render the site typography. This causes your browser to send your IP address to Google. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. To avoid this, you may block third-party font requests via your browser settings.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

As a data subject in the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — you may request confirmation of whether we process data about you and receive a copy.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — you may request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — you may request deletion of your data where no legal obligation requires retention.
  • Right to restriction (Art. 18 GDPR) — you may request that we limit processing of your data.
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to lodge a complaint — you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The competent authority for Germany is the Bundesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit (BfDI).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@wayuuland.com. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this site is updated to include analytics, a contact form, or other data-processing features, this policy will be updated accordingly before those features go live. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised.
